Graduate of UCD 1993 (Hons). Completed Higher Surgical Training Scheme in RCSI.
Colorectal fellowship in the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA and colorectal fellow of the year 2003.
Winner of the ASGBI Laparoscopic traveling fellowship in 2004. Fellowship in Mac Master University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada 2004. Fellowship Gasthuisberg University, Leuven, Belgium 2005.
Appointed to the Mater Miserciordiae University Hospital in June 2004 (9 sessions Mater, 2 sessions Rotunda) and took up appointment in June 2005. Appointed at the advent of laparoscopic colorectal surgery and appointed to establish it. Perineal clinic set up in 2005 to deal with pelvic floor dysfunction.
